BSc Aircraft Maintenance

BSc Aircraft Maintenance is 3 years (6 semesters) full-time undergraduate degree course. 

This course prepares students in the Technical aspects of Aviation, especially in Maintenance, Repair and Overhauling, Airlines, Airports and other Aviation Technical matters. The students are exposed to Live Operational Aircraft during the course at facilities of Indigo Airlines and Airworks India Engineering. 

Students pursuing AME License courses are eligible to do BSc Aircraft Maintenance alongside their AME License courses or vice versa in order to have the benefit of both a License and Degree. The BSc syllabus and AME License course syllabus is identical, however, the BSc examination is conducted by the University and AME License examination is conducted by the Civil Aviation Authority i.e., DGCA / EASA. 

By doing so that Students are approved by the Govt. to work as Aircraft Engineers / Aircraft Maintenance Engineers with a License as well as look at other opportunities related to the technical aspects of Aviation, for e.g., become a Pilot or Air Traffic Controller, Aircraft Despatcher, etc. 


The 3 years Bachelor Degree BSc (Aircraft Maintenance) is offered with the following objectives:

  • To help students learn the fundamentals of Aeronautical Science specifically in reference to Aircraft Operations. 
  • It also aims to develop Student’s interest in Aeronautics and related fields.
  • To develop the skills to identify problems that may be detrimental to the safe operations of an Aircraft in the quickest and safest possible manner. 
  • To create a habit for "attention to detail" and precision. 
  • To understand that Safety and Quality cannot be compromised. 
Resource and Methodology

The course curriculum runs parallel with the License AME courses which include Operational Environment Practical Training at Indigo Airlines or Airworks India Engineering Pvt. Ltd. facilities. 

Students are encouraged to take part in classroom presentations, seminars and workshops. Assignments, periodical tests and exams ensure effective learning experiences for the students. Regular student feedbacks on teaching are followed up with remedial teaching and guest lecturers to keep pace with recent developments in the aviation industry.

The course aims at holistic development, intellectual nourishment, quality education, emotional stability, ability to face the challenges in a competitive. Other curricular, co-curricular, extra-curricular and sports activities are well-planned in a calendar of events to bring out the best in a Student.

Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.


Candidates who have completed their Diploma in Mechanical / Aeronautical / Electrical / Electronics Engg from any board of Directorate of Technical Education.
